Set up your Unchained account

1

Create an Unchained account

To start your journey with Unchained, create your account. Fill in the boxes for your name, email, a strong password, and your phone number. Then, read and accept the terms and service.
Use a secure, primary email account

The next step ensures we have your correct email address. Your account protects your personal information and partially controls your access to Unchained’s key, so use a primary email that you keep secure.

2

Verify your email

Check your email inbox for a verification message from Unchained. Click on the verification link in the email to confirm your account.
3

Complete profile information

Unchained must verify your identity when you create your account. Complete the necessary profile information to get started.

4

Choose an account type and pay

Unchained offers basic personal accounts, trust accounts, IRA accounts, and business accounts. Choose the appropriate account type and make a payment. If you would prefer a 1:1 video call with a bitcoin custody expert (rather than following the rest of this guide), add Concierge Onboarding.
Setting up a business account?

This guide is primarily built for onboarding to personal, trust, and IRA accounts. If you’re looking to open a business account, which includes extra levels of customization, we recommend you first reach out to our team for assistance.

5

Review and submit

Finally, review all the information you've entered to ensure everything is correct. This is your chance to make any necessary edits before completing the process. Once you're satisfied, click Submit.

Welcome to Unchained! You're now ready for collaborative custody. In the sections ahead, we'll guide you through the basics of bitcoin multisig, choosing a custody model, setting up devices, and building your vault.
